With a deep-rooted passion for quality wood products, our family business has created a legacy of excellence. 

Mitchpine has been in operation since 1975. Over the years the ownership has transitioned through

the family while expanding to the large scale operation it is today.

Keith Mitchell started Mitchpine as a side business to supplement the family farms income when his the three son’s left secondary

school, with the mighty fence batten sawmill. They used this to supply a local merchant with fence battens.

Over a period of time the three brothers found other interests but Grant “Butch” remained with Mitchpine.

Butch grew the business with hard work, a passion for quality products, and ingrained in Mitchpine a family culture.

Butch handed over Mitchpine to his son Lee Mitchell in June 2019. The business continues to expand with new technology

being used to ensure waste is kept to a minimum and the safety of staff and customers is at the forefront of the business.

With three generations of experience you could say we know a thing or two about good wood. Each generation have been

passionate about providing quality products, working with the local community, and growing and evolving the

business so it meets the demands of the market.  This continues to drive the business today.
