With a deep-rooted passion for quality wood products, our family business has created a legacy of excellence.
Mitchpine began as a side business by Keith Mitchell IN 1975, aimed at supplementing the family farm's income after his three sons left secondary school. Utilising a mighty fence batten sawmill purchased from the Oxnam family in Foxton, they initially supplied fence battens to a local merchant.
Over the years, while the three brothers pursued other interests, Grant “Butch” Mitchell remained dedicated to the business. With hard work and a passion for quality products, Butch cultivated a family-oriented culture within Mitchpine.
In June 2019, Lee Mitchell purchased the business off Butch. Under Lee's leadership, the business continues to expand, integrating new technology to minimize waste and prioritize the safety of both staff and customers.
With three generations of experience, Mitchpine has developed a deep understanding of quality wood products. Each generation has been committed to providing exceptional products, engaging with the local community, and adapting to market demands. This dedication continues to drive Mitchpine as it delivers the finest posts, poles, and timber in the industry.
