We’re proud to share that Mitchpine now is FSC[LN1] ® Chain of Custody certified (FSC® Licence Code: FSC-C213587).

The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is an international, non-profit organisation that promotes responsible forest management. FSC certification means timber and wood products can be traced from well-managed forests through to the finished product, so customers can be confident about where their post, poles and timber comes from.

What this means for our customers

For our merchant partners and the customers, they supply, FSC certification offers:

• Confidence in sourcing. Our products come from forests managed to meet FSC’s environmental, social and economic standards.
• Traceability - System to track certified forest based material through the supply chain from the forest through processing, manufacturing, distribution and sale to consumer.
• A point of difference. More builders, farmers, councils and project managers are asking about the origin of their timber, and FSC certification helps merchants answer that question.



Why it matters to us

Mitchpine is a family-run business, and we’ve been supplying post poles and timber to customers across New Zealand since 1975. Responsible sourcing is part of looking after the land and industry that we, and our customers, depend on.

Being FSC certified is another way we show that Mitchpine uses responsible forestry.
